The seriously respected minister was coming to his retirement. During one of his last services he looked at the congregation and reminded us that we are ’fearfully and wonderfully made’ (Psalm 139: 14).
It was a memorable moment for me!
The phrase returns to me frequently as a reminder of who I am before God as I try to live out, in an all too feeble way, my own Christian faith.
I find a spiritual home within the Christianity, and am particularly intrigued by new monasticism with its concern for marginalized people, places and spaces, socio-economic justice, hospitality, peace-making, environment and formation in the way of Christ.
